Time at the Hospital

My mom and I took Colton to get his 2 month shots on Tuesday August 14. The doctor told me to give him tylenol every 4 hours so he didn't get a fever. Well he woke up Wednesday morning and just didn't look like he felt real well so I took his temperature and its was 100.4. He wasn't eating much and was just sleeping all day. Around 3:30 or so he felt real warm so I took his temperature again and it was 102.5. I called the Dr. and he said take him to the ER because that's entirely too high for a baby. So I called Joe all freaking out and told him we were on our way to the ER and he left work to meet us up there. When Joe got there they called us back to Triage to assess Colton and by then he was running 104.5 temperature. They then gave him tylenol and brought us to another room where they hooked up a decatheter to him to get some urine, did and IV, and a spinal tap. They went ahead and admitted him overnight so we could wait for all the lab results and for his fever to go down. The next morning the nurse was trying to give him anitbiotics through his IV and realized it was coming out so she had put in a new one. She had to poke him twice because she couldn't find a good vein. After 2 nights in the hospital the Dr. came and told us all labs came back negative and that he just had a virus and that he was good to go home.
It was so sad seeing him all miserable and just not being himself. Now Colton is feeling much better and back to normal!

What a sweetie. It's hard to see our little ones suffer. I am glad he is A-ok now!

Phhhheeeeewww, they love to scare us.

Isaac is now almost nine and he scares me everyday doing CRAZY stuff. But being sick is the pits.

Glad when they are all better.

Love - Izzy

Poor baby! That explains not seeing you at church. I have your disk and was planning on just giving it to you Sunday. Call me so I can get with you!

Hey Cherise, this is Kelli, one of Joe's old friends. Just wanted to say hi and I am really glad that Colton is okay. He is adorable, by the way. That must have been so scary for you. Hospitals are so hard for small babies. Spinal taps are the worst too! I have a daughter who is 3 and when she was born she had the same high fever and wound up in the hospital for 2 months with bacterial meningitis, so I completely know how you feel. It's so hard to watch them go through all that. So glad he is doing well. Tell Joe I said hi. We wish you all the best! Take care!
